Copyright Policy (Notice & Takedown)
We respect intellectual property rights and provide a clear Notice & Takedown process.
Last updated: December 2025
Scope
This policy applies to content accessible on MazeDIY, including user-published mazes, previews, and decoration assets displayed or provided by the platform. If you believe content infringes your copyright, trademark, or other IP rights, submit a notice using the process below.
Submit a Notice
To help us process your request quickly, include complete information. If key details are missing we may ask you to supplement before taking action.
Your notice should include
- Rights holder (or authorised agent) name/company and contact details (email/phone)
- Description of the copyrighted work and proof of rights (original URL, registration, or other verifiable evidence)
- Exact location of the allegedly infringing content on MazeDIY (URL, Maze ID, screenshots)
- Good-faith statement that the use is not authorised
- Statement that the information is accurate and you are authorised to act
- Electronic signature and date
How to submit
Email the information above and include “Copyright Notice / Takedown” in the subject. We may contact you for clarification or coordinate with the uploader as needed.
Submission email: copyright@mazediy.com
We typically complete an initial review within 2 business days and will take appropriate action as soon as reasonably possible (removal, restriction, or other measures).
Counter-Notice
If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice. We will review and decide whether to restore the content or keep it removed while the parties resolve the dispute through appropriate channels.
A counter-notice should include
- Location/identifier of the removed content (URL, Maze ID)
- Explanation and supporting evidence that you own the rights or have a licence
- Reason you believe the removal was mistaken (e.g. original work, licensed, fair use)
- Accuracy statement and electronic signature
Repeat infringer policy
Accounts that receive multiple valid infringement notices may be restricted, suspended, or terminated to protect rights holders and maintain a safe community.
Third-party assets & licences
MazeDIY may display or provide decoration assets originating from third parties. We strive to surface licence information, but we do not guarantee suitability for any specific commercial scenario. For commercial use, review the licence terms and attribution requirements before publishing.
Recommendations
- Prefer assets that explicitly allow commercial use and redistribution
- If attribution is required, add credit where the licence specifies
- Avoid “editorial only”, “non-commercial”, or “no redistribution” assets
- For enterprise/publishing, retain licence texts and source links for audit purposes
