Japan Maze: Four Islands, One Path — a Printable Archipelago Puzzle
A solvable maze across Japan's four main islands, bridged into one continuous puzzle. Mount Fuji, floating torii, castles and cherry blossoms at their true positions.
Four islands, one path
Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu — bridged into a single continuous maze, the same trick we later used for Cape Verde. Start in Kyushu, finish in eastern Hokkaido.

Landmarks on the route
- The floating torii of Itsukushima near Hiroshima
- Himeji and Osaka castles, and the torii tunnels of Fushimi Inari
- Mount Fuji, with Tokyo Tower and Skytree beside the bay
- Sakurajima volcano steaming over Kyushu
- A Nara deer and cherry blossoms all along Honshu
Difficulty
Medium — 509 cells on the shortest path. The island bridges are one-way commitments: pick wrong and you re-cross the strait. BFS-verified solvable.
